The Chengdu J-10 ‘Vigorous Dragon’, (NATO reporting name: Firebird) is a Chinese medium-weight, single-engine, multirole combat aircraft using a delta wing and canard design, with a maximum speed of Mach 1.8. It is produced by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China, and exported to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
It is an upgraded version of the J-10B, featuring an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, modern avionics, digital fly by wire controls, and compatibility with advanced Chinese air to air and air to surface weapons. The J-10C performs air superiority, interception, and precision strike missions. Powered by the WS-10B engine, it offers improved thrust and agility. The aircraft forms a core component of China's tactical fighter fleet, enhancing PLAAF capabilities for regional defense and rapid response.
