Celebrate the golden age of US Naval Aviation with this highly detailed 1:72 scale diecast model of the legendary Grumman F-14A Tomcat, produced by JC Wings. Representing aircraft AJ222 (Bureau Number 161140) of the renowned VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" squadron aboard the USS Nimitz in 1980, this impressive collectible captures one of the most iconic fighter aircraft of the Cold War era.

The Grumman F-14A Tomcat was a powerful twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep-wing fighter developed to provide long-range fleet air defence for the United States Navy. Equipped with the sophisticated AWG-9 radar and capable of carrying the formidable AIM-54 Phoenix missile, the Tomcat became synonymous with American naval air superiority throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

VF-84, famously known as the "Jolly Rogers", was one of the US Navy's most recognisable fighter squadrons, distinguished by its striking black tail fins featuring the unmistakable white skull-and-crossbones insignia. This JC Wings replica recreates the squadron's classic 1980 markings, reflecting the Tomcat's early operational years aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz.

Featuring detailed aircraft markings, interchangeable undercarriage and weapon loads, this 1:72 scale model makes an outstanding addition to any military aviation collection. An excellent choice for enthusiasts of the F-14 Tomcat, US Navy carrier operations and historic Cold War fighter aircraft.
